During the autumn season of RIGA FASHION WEEK, which will take place October 12-16, collections of more than 15 leading Latvian designers, including children’s clothing, will be presented in a traditional format. This time the international status of the event is given by the participation of the Estonian brand Diana Arno. Fashion shows will also be accessible online for everyone interested.

Fashion lovers will definitely have something to entertain themselves with during the upcoming fashion week — collaborations of young Latvian designers, live shows in a hybrid format at the new venue — ATTA CENTRE, and a themed afterparty. This season, Iveta Vecmane, Natalija Jansone, Selina Keer, Amoralle, Volga Vintage, Katya Katya London, Collected Story, Nolo will show their collections on the main RFW runway. The special guest of the upcoming fashion session will be the Estonian brand Diana Arno. Children’s fashion will be represented by Aristocrat Kids, Tiny Bunny and Rock and Mouse. Special attention should be paid to the thematic presentations of the debut brands Saint Key and Gummo during the first days of RFW, as well as the cooperation of four Latvian textile and accessory brands — Cinnamon Concept, Una Bērziņa, Vaskala, Valdis Brože. The opening of the Fashion Week will be marked by the 16th National Fashion and Style Awards ceremony for 2020.

“The past year for the fashion industry has become a time of relative calm and creative reflection, so it will be especially interesting to see the collections as part of the upcoming autumn season. Designers have been inspired by nature, a sense of freedom, relationships with their loved ones and they have not stopped creating. Looking ahead, we can say that one of the brands will present four collections at once because several capsule directions were launched during the pandemic — that is something that should be talked about and, most importantly, it needs to be seen,” says Elena Strahova, the chief producer of Riga Fashion Week.

The trends will be characteristic not only for runway shows but also for the format of the event. As the whole world has adapted to virtual broadcasting formats but misses face-to-face meetings, RFW will be held in a hybrid format — both online and offline.
