We are present to you our latest discovery – CHAKSHYN. For their Spring-Summer 2019 collection, Kiev-based designers Dima and Anton juxtapose their signature masculine tailoring with 18th-century costume and modern feminine staples.

Without direct quotations, the designers use elements from 18th-century undergarments, applying them to tailored vests and meticulously constructed dresses. Dima and Anton drew inspiration from Queen Victoria, translating and interpreting her image to reinvent the typical hoop dresses of the period. The dress loses its corset, and the hoops morph into layered draping.

As they continue to dissect the male wardrobe, Anton and Dima put the pieces back together into edgy womenswear – formal trousers transform into feminine dresses, voluminous trench-coats gain flowing details, fragments of silk scarves cover classic shirts and office blazers, and whole scarves make up gathered dresses.
