“Enchanted Sicily” is a new Dolce & Gabbana’s ready-to-wear Fall/Winter collection 2014-2015. From the title it is easy to grasp that this time designers turned to their origins – Domenico Dolce’s birthplace, the glorious Sicily. With centuries of culture and history the island has countless stories and fairy tales, medieval castles, knights and dames, which actually inspired the famous duo.

The very first thing catching the eye probably is wonderful fauna and flora prints, which were accompanied by the unexpected repetition of key pattern. The collection varied in colours but stayed true to the established standard of curvy, knee-length outfits. Deep forest green, dark violet and brown emphasized the fantasy of an almost mythical girl that glides in the woods with beautiful silk jersey dress glittering in dimmed forest light. But you could also find eyes-burning red dresses that flow with every movement or a bright, sky-blue skirt and an over-knee dress. This season was presented with a modern approach to the fur hoodies, which made that last touch we want when going out on the cold winter date. The intricate embroidery, laces and jewelry also served their duty to create high fashion elegance. Transparent fabrics and corsets were used to create a sophisticated sex appeal that tuned well with the general collection narrative. What else is left to say, fun and chic Dolce & Ganbbana’s  style we are already familiar with has proven us one more time that imagination and talent have no limits!
